Research

Analysis of the requests we have received for information, training and technical assistance since 1990, has guided the DBTAC: Southeast ADA Center (Southeast DBTAC) to develop an innovative research plan to address the two issues of particular importance to the Southeast Region:

  • Examine barriers to employment and economic self-sufficiency of people with disabilities, and
  • Increase the civic and social participation of people with disabilities within their communities and across America.

With guidance provided by its Business Leadership Council (BLC) and State Affiliates, the Southeast DBTAC is implementing research projects that will result in new knowledge and have great potential to impact policy and practice in these in these two areas.

Research Projects: Southeast DBTAC

  1. Hiring Biases and Attitudinal Impediments to Employment for Persons with Disabilities
  2. Corporate Culture and Best Practices for Hiring and Retaining Persons with Disabilities
  3. Examining the Civic, Social and Economic Participation of Persons with Disabilities
